School Day

Our intake for each year group is 90.  In Reception and Key Stage One, class sizes are capped at 30.  For most of the day pupils will work with their own class teacher, assisted by trained teaching assistants who are able to give extra help to individual children and small groups.

Pattern of the day

It is important that children arrive promptly in the morning.  Gates are opened at 8.50am each morning.

The school session times are as follows:

Morning Session 9.00am – 11.45am or 12 noon
Staggered Lunch Hour

Reception: 11.45am  – 12.45pm

Years 1 and 2: 12 noon - 1.00pm

Afternoon Session

Reception: 12.45pm - 3.00pm

Years 1 and 2: 1.00pm - 3.00pm

Key Stage One Assembly

1.30pm Monday and Wednesday

9.10am Friday

Children should come into their classrooms between 8.50am and 9.00am to ensure a prompt start at 9.00am.  The children are encouraged to come into school themselves to promote independence. The class teacher or teaching assistant will always greet your child at the door.  Children are collected outside from their classrooms at the end of the school day.

If parents/carers need to speak to teaching staff it is best to do this after school as the mornings are a busy time settling the children for the day.  Alternatively, please contact the school office who will be able to organise an appointment with your child's class teacher.
