School Meals

We work with the meal provider, Chartwells for your children’s school lunches. Chartwells believe that the key to fuelling young minds comes from understanding both what they need and what they enjoy, which is why they develop nutritious and delicious food that pupils love, alongside helping to ensure a healthy body and mind. Their passionate culinary experts work closely with us to ensure every child receives healthy food, perfectly suited to meet their needs and dietary requirements.

All infant children are entitled to free school meals.

How to order: Log on at www.parentpay.com to choose and book your meals. Orders need to be placed by midnight Thursday, ten days ahead of the week required. For example, meals for the week starting Monday 12th would have an order deadline of Thursday 1st.

You will have received an activation letter and temporary password to set up your ParentPay account. If you need this resent, please contact your school office.

Chartwells Lunch Menu

For children with food intolerances and allergies, Chartwells have a dedicated team of medical diet nutritionists on hand to support allergen aware children and their parents. More information on their medical diet process can be found here: The Chartwells Approach to Medical Diets | Chartwells

Parents and guardians can contact the medical diet nutrition team directly on:  westsussexspecialdiets@compass-group.co.uk.

To find out more about Chartwells, visit their website or contact the school catering team. Weblink: https://www.chartwells.co.uk/west-sussex/

The school offers hot meals which are provided by Chartwells. A copy of their latest menu is at the bottom of the page.  Since September 2014 all children at our school are entitled to Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM).  Parents individually order Chartwells meals through an application called ParentPay. Please click the link here to access ParentPay. To see more information about Chartwells please see their website here. You will be able to find all the links on the website, including menus, theme day menus, ParentPay guides (an FAQ will be added shortly), and Chartwells direct contact details.

Alternatively, parents can supply a packed lunch, which must be clearly named and brought to school in a suitable container. Please provide a drink in a non-spill container, preferably one that fits inside the lunch box. We endeavour to store the lunch boxes in as cool a place as possible, but during hot weather you may wish to use a mini ice pack to keep your child’s lunch fresh. Please note that bottles, cans, thermos flasks, fizzy drinks, hot drinks, nuts or sweets are not permitted.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO NOTIFY THE SCHOOL IF YOU ARE SENDING YOUR CHILD INTO SCHOOL WITH A PACKED LUNCH OR HAVE ORDERED A HOT LUNCH FOR YOUR CHILD ON ANY GIVEN DAY.

If you are in receipt of any of the following benefits and you apply for free school meals, our school will receive a Pupil Premium grant to support your child's education. The grant is currently £1,455 per eligible primary pupil and is paid for up to six years.
